Buried under the holiday rush and stress — the week before Christmas, the busiest time of the year for travel — the noisy hallways of Chicago O'Hare International Airport offered one advisory and announcement after another echoing through that expansive facility. Early morning report times, full flights, weary feet, and a lack of sleep. How I wished I could find a place to truly relax after those stressful stretches.
Well, while I was thinking, my partner Gary was planning. He knew we deserved some time away from work, and so in the week leading up to the Christmas rush he booked a four-day spa vacation in Arizona — at the Boulders Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, a desert oasis of luxurious comfort nestled among ancient granite formations.
