Miami Art Week 2026: How to Get Around Without Losing Your Mind
The ferry, the Metromover, Brightline, and Freebee. A practical guide to moving through Miami during Art Week without sitting in causeway traffic.

Art Week traffic is its own category of Miami experience. The causeways back up. Parking near the Convention Center is a project. The best thing I can tell you is to build extra time between everything and not overschedule. Proximity is a genuine luxury during this week — choose a neighborhood, explore it thoroughly, and move deliberately.
That said, there are real alternatives to sitting in a car.
The Miami Beach Ferry offers a scenic way to move between the beach and the mainland without the causeway. Once you are downtown, the free Metromover makes it easy to move around the urban core — useful if you are spending time at Art Miami, CONTEXT or NADA near Biscayne Bay.
If you are coming into Miami from elsewhere in Florida, Brightline is the move. Trains arrive at MiamiCentral in Downtown Miami with connections from Aventura, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando. I have been covering Brightline since its first Fort Lauderdale run in 2017 and the difference it makes during a week like this — not having to drive, not having to park — is real.
Freebee is Miami's free on-demand transportation service, recognized on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list. During Art Week, riders can download the Freebee app and request a free ride within its service areas, including Wynwood, Downtown Miami and Miami Beach. It is genuinely useful for moving between neighborhoods without a car, and it reduces the friction of getting from one fair to the next.
The practical advice: pick a base, stay close to it for the first day or two, and let the week reveal itself. Miami Art Week rewards the people who slow down and look.
