Business & Tech
WIRED is doing something it has never done before. On November 4, the publication brings its journalism off the page and into a room at The Sacred Space in Miami, hosting the inaugural WIRED World Fair: a full-day festival where the people, ideas, and technologies WIRED covers are not just discussed but experienced firsthand.
The program is built around the questions WIRED has been asking all year. What happens when you point a camera at Elon Musk and do not look away? Alex Gibney, the film director behind the Musk documentary, will be there for a screening and Q&A. Who owns the future of AI? Clement Delangue, cofounder and CEO of Hugging Face, will weigh in. Where should the next wave of venture capital go? Alexis Ohanian, founder of Seven Seven Six, will make his case.
The day also includes Hunter Schafer and Blade Runner 2099 showrunner Silka Luisa on what 2099 might actually look like, Ben Collins of The Onion on satire and who it serves now, Ben Lamm of Colossal Biosciences on de-extinction, and political influencers CJ Pearson and Kat Abughazaleh on whether the next election gets won by creators rather than campaigns.
Beyond the stage, attendees will get hands-on with the technology WIRED covers: humanoid robots, digital art, simulated space missions from NASA XOSS, and interactive installations from Unitree Robotics and others. Live podcast recordings are also part of the day.
The WIRED World Fair is November 4 at The Sacred Space in Miami. Tickets are available at wired.com.
