Five South Florida Bars Doing Halloween Cocktails That Are Actually Worth Ordering

Halloween cocktail menus tend to lean on the obvious: red food coloring, dry ice, a name with "blood" in it. The better ones use the season as an excuse to do something genuinely interesting with ingredients. A few South Florida bars are doing exactly that this October.

R House Wynwood keeps it focused: two drinks, $10 each, available October 22–31. The Blood Bath is blood orange, passion fruit, and dragon fruit — blood-red and fruit-forward. The Black Widow is a charcoal margarita with a spicy orange sugar rim. Both are priced to order a second.

Hoy Como Ayer in Little Havana is running three mezcal-forward Halloween cocktails Thursday through Saturday of Halloween week. La Llorona ($15) is Mañojo Mezcal with strawberry, Campari, lime, agave, and fire tincture — smoke, tartness, and heat. One Wish Willow ($15) goes tropical: the same mezcal with peach, Suze, kiwi, and lime, black salt rim. Sinners ($15) is the indulgent one — mezcal, espresso, coffee, pumpkin syrup, chocolate bitters, cocoa. The venue already knows how to run a late night; these are built for it.

Vilebrequin La Plage on Miami Beach has a single seasonal cocktail worth noting: Le Baiser Écarlate ($22), made with Código Reposado infused with activated charcoal, house-made Bordeaux cordial, lavender-raspberry purée, fresh lime, and black lava salt. Dark fruit, floral, citrus, and salinity in one glass. The price reflects the build.

On the Fort Lauderdale side, Casa Sensei on Las Olas is running two Halloween drinks: a Pumpkin Spice Martini ($16) with Mozart pumpkin liqueur, vodka, and half and half, finished with pumpkin spice and whipped cream, and the Vampire Kiss ($16) — vodka, Chambord, cranberry, lime, and simple syrup. Straightforward, well-priced, and the kind of thing that works on a busy Las Olas night.

If you are making the drive across Alligator Alley, Tigress at The Perry Hotel Naples is running three Halloween cocktails on the rooftop. The Black Lotus pairs Absolut Citron with lemongrass shochu, lychee, fresh lemon, and activated charcoal, finished with a lychee and cherry eyeball garnish. The Midnight Tigress puts a silver-glitter spin on a Hugo Spritz — St-Germain, lavender, lime, and Prosecco. The Bloody Jerry goes darker: Sailor Jerry Rum, dark cherry, Chambord, and ginger ale with a black salt rim. Naples is the Hamptons of the South for a reason; the drinks hold up.
