Ozzy Osbourne's Art Meets Advocacy at Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami 2025
Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne brought his visual art to Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami 2025, with proceeds benefiting Save The Chimps — the world's largest chimpanzee sanctuary — in a collaboration that fused rock royalty, fine art, and animal welfare.
Part of our ongoing curation of what it means to live, love, and play in the Magic City.
Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne made a striking appearance in the Miami Art Week conversation during Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami 2025 — not on a stage, but on canvas. The Prince of Darkness brought his visual art to the fairs, with proceeds from sales benefiting Save The Chimps, the world's largest chimpanzee sanctuary, based in Fort Pierce, Florida.
The collaboration was unexpected in the best possible way. Ozzy has long been known for his visual sensibility — the imagery associated with his music and career has always been as distinctive as the music itself — but presenting that vision in the context of a fine art fair brought a new dimension to both the work and the artist.
Save The Chimps is a remarkable institution. Founded in 1997, it provides lifetime care for chimpanzees rescued from research laboratories, entertainment, and the exotic pet trade. Its 150-acre sanctuary in Fort Pierce is home to more than 200 chimpanzees — the largest group of rescued chimps in the world. The connection between a rock legend's art and a Florida sanctuary for rescued primates is the kind of story that only Miami Art Week can produce.
Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami, which run concurrently during Art Basel week at Mana Wynwood, have built reputations as the accessible, energetic counterparts to the main fair — places where emerging artists, celebrity collaborations, and cause-driven projects find their audience. The Ozzy x Save The Chimps presentation was exactly the kind of moment that defines what these fairs do best.
