The Trans-Siberian Orchestra brought their Winter Storm Tour to the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables on December 10, 2010, delivering the kind of holiday spectacle that only TSO can produce — a wall of sound, a wall of fire, and a wall of light that left the sold-out crowd breathless.
Founded by the late Paul O'Neill, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra has become one of the most successful touring acts in North America, transforming the holiday concert into a full theatrical event. Their signature fusion of hard rock, classical music, and progressive storytelling has earned them a devoted following that returns year after year.
The Winter Storm Tour featured the ensemble's trademark pyrotechnics — columns of flame shooting from the stage, synchronized laser arrays, and a light show that turned the arena into a cathedral of color. The setlist drew from their catalog of holiday epics, including selections from their landmark albums *Christmas Eve and Other Stories* and *The Christmas Attic*, alongside rock arrangements of classical pieces that showcased the orchestra's extraordinary range.
The Miami stop was one of two Florida performances on the tour, with the ensemble splitting into two touring groups to cover the country simultaneously — a TSO tradition that allows them to reach more cities during the compressed holiday window.
For South Florida audiences, a TSO show is a December ritual. The combination of holiday spirit, arena rock energy, and theatrical spectacle creates an experience unlike any other concert of the year — and the BankUnited Center crowd gave the ensemble a standing ovation that lasted well past the final pyrotechnic burst.
