Zac Brown Named Godfather of Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber — Christening in Miami on January 9, 2027

Zac Brown has spent his career making music that sounds like the feeling of being somewhere warm and unhurried. Naming him Godfather of the Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber is either the most obvious decision in cruise history or a stroke of genius. Probably both.

Margaritaville at Sea Cruise Line has announced that multi-platinum artist and three-time GRAMMY Award winner Zac Brown will serve as the official Godfather of the all-new Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber, christening the ship and performing onboard as part of its inaugural celebration in January 2027. Brown will officially christen Beachcomber in Miami on January 9, 2027, and mark the occasion with a special onboard performance before the ship departs on its inaugural sailing.

"It's been so much fun working with the Margaritaville at Sea family to bring Same Boat on Beachcomber to life," said Brown. "I'm really proud of what we've created together, and being named Godfather of Beachcomber is a true honor. What I love most is knowing that people are going to step on this ship with their families and friends, have an amazing time and make memories they'll have forever."

Brown's connection to Beachcomber comes to life at Same Boat — the world's first artist-designed live music venue at sea — where he collaborated with Margaritaville at Sea on everything from design and artwork to music programming. The venue is inspired by Brown's hit song "Same Boat," which featured Jimmy Buffett, and celebrates the longstanding musical relationship between the two artists, who first came together for CMT's Crossroads and collaborated on hits including "Knee Deep."

The partnership extends on land as well: Margaritaville at Sea is the presenting sponsor of Zac Brown Band's 27-show Love & Fear U.S. Tour. At the band's August 2 performance at Fenway Park, Brown personally provided a Margaritaville at Sea cruise vacation to every fan in attendance — more than 35,000 concertgoers and $43 million in vacations, the largest audience gifting in live entertainment history.

"Zac has become an important part of the Margaritaville at Sea family, and naming him Godfather of Beachcomber is a natural next step in a partnership that continues to grow," said Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea. "He shares our belief that great music, memorable experiences and bringing people together can turn a vacation into something much more."

Launching from PortMiami in January 2027, Beachcomber will introduce more than 15 all-new venues alongside longtime Margaritaville at Sea favorites. The ship will spend its inaugural season sailing four- to eight-night itineraries to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean before repositioning to Galveston in October 2027. Brown will also headline an exclusive concert in Nassau on January 28, 2027, when Beachcomber, Islander and Paradise come together for the first gathering of the Margaritaville at Sea fleet.
